Searcy County
School District
SCSD is a small rural district in Marshall, AR. David served as the lead PLC coach for Searcy County School District over a three-year period. A district leadership team/guiding coalition was formed to assist all schools in developing shared knowledge of the school improvement process and determining the “tight” action steps of the PLC and RTI processes. All Searcy County Schools developed site leadership teams, teacher teams, and schoolwide intervention teams, all aimed at enhancing their individual and team practices to improve student achievement.

Over a three-year period, significant achievements were made across K-12

In grades K-10, 8 out of 10 cohorts showed improvement in the percentage of students proficient in reading and math.

The most notable improvement was seen in the cohort from grade 7 to grade 8, where the percentage of students proficient in reading increased by 33% based upon the state assessment in just one school year!
